About SISC

Read all about SISC holidays and farm, values, how SISC runs, history of SISC.

One of the biggest and oldest BDSM holiday places in Europe

Since 1994, our large farm in the heart of Denmark has been a special place where kinky and open-minded people from around the world come together and share BDSM experiences. Here, you can be your true self, connect, and share playful, creative experiences in a one-of-a-kind BDSM setting.

With 4,000 square metres of farm and 2,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor play space, the farm offers a playful, safe and welcoming environment. You can play,  laugh, enjoy the wellness area, eat good food, play again, and build meaningful friendships that can last a lifetime.

We are a non-commercial, member-run organisation. We run the farm in an organised way, while keeping the spirit of SISC, the freedom to play, and our shared love of BDSM at the heart of camp life.

Each summer, we host different themed weeks to suit a variety of interests. Some weeks are open to all genders, some are for gay men only, and there’s also a special “hotel week” where you can try a short stay before joining for a full week.

We also have a volunteer work week where you are welcome to come and lend your skills and time to help improve the farm before the season starts. Whichever week you join, they all have the spirit of SISC at the heart of them, and a warm welcome to new and returning campers alike.

Values

Every person active in the BDSM scene, regardless of religion, political observation, race or gender/identity is welcome at SISC.

At SISC events we are avoiding these topics, because this is what devides people. SISC is not a political organisation, but a place where BDSM people are together with like-minded and tolerant people without judgement and censorship from others.
Almost all varieties of BDSM have a negative origin. Outside the BDSM scene, many themes we play with, can or have been oppressive and have an adverse impact on some people.

SISC is a BDSM organisation. All the games and sexual activities we have are games between consenting adults and not real.

At SISC we take care of each other. We have a safe space to live out our fantasies, even the ones that are judged perverted, deemed oppressive or unpleasant by outsiders of the scene. We don't connect the games we play at SISC to real life. They are sexual games between consenting adults, even if elements of the games may be deemed inappropriate or felt to be traumatic to some in other settings.

Since almost any BDSM game, role or toy could be connected to a negative experience, we will not exclude those games, roles or toys. That is why we play without prejudice and judgement, but of course within Danish law.
If you witness a game, role, toy or relationship style that is difficult for you to handle or you don’t agree with, you have the responsibility to look the other way and not comment on it. All games at SISC are strictly in a play context. You can also expect the same tolerance from others towards your sexuality.

How SISC runs

History of SISC

1988: success in tents

From very early in its history, SMil, the largest BDSM Organisation in Denmark, had organised island camps in old army tents on beautiful and undisturbed Danish islands. And here it begins. In the summer of 1988 for the first time we had some guests from outside Denmark and it turned out GREAT and became international.

1989: walls

During the winter of 1989-90 luck struck us. The idea of four walls around us had been there for a while, but we were still just another activity group in the organisation. A SMil member, just bought this farm somewhere outside Aarhus, and asked us if we were still interested in having a real farm for the camps.

When we saw the camp we were blissfully unaware what we started. It consisted of a well kept main building and 3 stable and barn buildings in various states of exotic decay – good, bad and ugly.

1990 and 1991: stables and camps

After winter and spring of 1990 we had made a good start. The stables had been cleared and cleaned, a sleeper was established and a wonderful dungeon was set up in the old barn.

The next year we made two camps instead of one and week 30 and 32 were established.

During the winter of 1991 the idea of setting up a proper organisation grew into a plan. Up till then we were still an activity group under SMil Aarhus. But the late spring of 1992 saw our first general assembly.

1990: pig sty

The pig sty is the sleeper today. The roof had partially blown off and the floor had collapsed under rot and the weight of wet hay. The floor, hay, and half the roof lay on the floor and it took the effort of five madmen and a female pyromaniac to clear them out.

The roof was then rebuilt and the floor reestablished over half the room, creating our sleeper balcony. In the old foodstuff storeroom we made a shower and the first sauna.

The cow stable was also cleaned out, and a few minor holes in the roof were patched. Between the cow boxes a wooden floor was laid and a bar established in the calf boxes. We then hosed down both stables and whitewashed the walls.

Then we looked at the barn. It was the good part, a lot of good roof and timbers and sound walls. All we had to do was fill in a truckload of sand for the floor and set up a lot of chains and stuff.

Luckily for us, the old farmer was the collecting type, who never threw out much of his old junk, and we made these first improvements out of at least 50% recycled materials.

Also it was a great help that somebody was working in the city’s recycling facility, where all sorts of old furniture etc. was taken in, sorted and sold cheap.

1991 and further

Today we refine the buildings without losing the charm by straightening out too much. The idea is not to make a hotel out of the place but to keep the camp atmosphere.
